Co-owner of PCF Group, Lisa Greaves, Honored by Puget Sound Business Journal as CFO of the Year

Puget Sound Business Journal (PSBJ) has celebrated 15 years of CFO excellence with Seattle’s leading finance and business professionals, and this year, Lisa Greaves was their honoree for CFO of the Year. Last night, Lisa gave a speech at their awards ceremony, which celebrated the region’s most accomplished CFOs that are shaping the financial future of our region.

Lisa credited her husband, Robert Greaves, founder of PCF Construction Group, for teaching her so much about the industry. She honored the entire PCF team as her unique role as CFO allows her to work closely with every pillar of their organization. “To be effective, it starts with having a great team” Lisa said. Customers, community, and employees is what they prioritize, which is effectively why they rebranded their parent company to People Come First Construction Group.

On a personal level, Lisa said that valuing people first aligned with her faith in Jesus:
“I try to apply his teachings in every aspect of my life, including business. It really changes the way that I show up to serve others, how I lead, and how I ultimately define success. Jesus said to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Second, but just as important, he said to love people. How many of us know that with God in the driver’s seat, when you show up to invest in people and nurture relationships, everything else seems to fall into place, including the numbers.”

Why Lisa is CFO of the Year

Lisa Greaves has transformed People Come First Construction Group from the inside out, bringing clarity, discipline, and strategic leadership to every layer of the organization. With a background as a CFO for a Fortune 500 company and a degree in accounting from the University of Washington, Lisa combines high-level financial expertise with a deeply grounded, people-first approach to leadership.

When Lisa stepped into her role at PCF Construction Group, she inherited financial systems that lacked structure and consistency. She immediately established a foundation for sustainable growth by transitioning the company to GAAP-compliant accounting, implementing ADP payroll systems, and restructuring payroll operations to improve efficiency and oversight. She reduced the company’s financial close cycle to just five days, giving leadership real-time visibility and control over performance.

Lisa’s leadership extends beyond the balance sheet. She has strengthened operational resilience by implementing cybersecurity protections and recovering critical funds through ERTC filings that had previously been overlooked. Her ability to identify risk, capture opportunity, and execute with precision has positioned PCF for continued growth.

Equally important is Lisa’s commitment to people. She serves faithfully in her church and invests in her community, modeling the same values of stewardship, service, and integrity that define her leadership at PCF. At home, she balances these responsibilities while raising three energetic boys, embodying resilience and dedication in every area of her life.

Lisa Greaves is not just a financial leader—she is a builder of systems, teams, and culture. Her work has elevated PCF Construction Group into a stronger, more disciplined, and more resilient organization, making her an outstanding CFO of the Year.
