We’re often asked why we don’t include painting and staining services—or at least provide quotes for them—with every project. The answer is straightforward:
- Many customers prefer to do it themselves. Roughly 60% of our clients enjoy painting or staining on their own because it saves money and gives them satisfaction in finishing the project personally.
- Subcontracting adds unnecessary cost. If we hired a painting or staining crew for you, we would need to add a markup, making it more expensive than if you hired someone directly.
- Quality and satisfaction risks. Staining is permanent. If the wrong color is applied, it can’t be reversed easily. We want you to be completely happy with your project, and introducing a subcontractor for painting could compromise the final look.
Instead, we focus on what we do best—building high-quality structures—and leave the finishing touches to either you or a painting professional of your choice.
Tip when hiring a painter or stainer:
- Make sure they sand the surface lightly before staining.
- Stain should always be applied with a brush, not sprayed, to ensure proper adhesion and long-term durability.
