Complete Outdoor Living Overhaul

In Sammamish, WA

The Dream:

A Vision in Sammamish, WA

Nestled in the lush, tree-lined neighborhoods of Sammamish, WA, the homeowners had a dream to transform their aging back deck into a multi-functional outdoor living space that could stand up to the region’s damp winters and unpredictable weather. The existing deck was rotting and falling apart and wasn’t utilized.

Like many families in the Pacific Northwest, the clients envisioned a space where they could gather no matter the season—hosting barbecues in the summer and staying cozy under cover during rainy fall evenings. They imagined a structure that would not only provide shelter but add beauty and value to their home: a gable-style patio cover paired with a rebuilt composite deck and new railing for both function and curb appeal.

To bring that dream to life, this project would call on four of the five expert divisions within PCF Group—MasterDecks, Timberline Patio Covers, ResCom Railing, and Rock Electric—working together to reimagine what outdoor living could be in Sammamish.

The Build:

Crafting Outdoor Living in Sammamish

Once our permitting team completed the permitting process, our build team got to work transforming the backyard into a fully realized outdoor oasis. We began by removing the existing structure and preparing the site for major upgrades.

The first major feature was the construction of a custom gable-style patio cover, designed to extend the living space while blending beautifully with the home’s existing roofline. This open, vaulted style not only creates a spacious feel but also allows for maximum airflow and light—perfect for Sammamish’s mix of sunny summers and wet, wooded winters.

Simultaneously, we rebuilt the deck from the ground up using TimberTech composite decking, known for its durability, slip resistance, and low maintenance—all critical for homes in the Pacific Northwest climate.

Our concrete team poured and stamped a stunning curved patio using textured concrete to provide visual interest and a durable surface that can stand up to the region’s rain and moisture.

To complete the transformation, we installed sleek aluminum railings with a composite top cap, offering safety and style without blocking the lush views. Rock Electric added in recessed lighting and outdoor heaters by Bromic to ensure the space can be used comfortably throughout the year.

This stage was a collaborative effort across multiple divisions—Timberline Patio Covers, MasterDecks, ResCom Railing, and Rock Electric—each bringing specialized expertise to bring the vision to life.

The Result:

Comfort and Style, Year-Round

The completed outdoor living space is a stunning blend of form and function—tailored to the Pacific Northwest lifestyle and built to last through every season. The gable-style patio cover, now fully finished with beautiful cedar tongue-and-groove ceilings and skylights, creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that extends the home’s living area outdoors. Whether it’s a summer gathering or a drizzly fall evening, the built-in Bromic heaters and recessed lighting provide comfort and ambiance year-round.

The newly installed TimberTech composite deck offers a rich, low-maintenance surface for relaxing, dining, and entertaining—complete with custom aluminum railings with composite top caps for a clean, secure edge without sacrificing aesthetics.

Adjacent to the deck, the curved stamped concrete patio adds elegant contrast and additional gathering space, seamlessly tying together the backyard. With privacy from the surrounding trees and ample room for seating, this area is perfect for both quiet mornings and lively evenings.

From start to finish, our teams across MasterDecks, Timberline Patio Covers, ResCom Railing, and Rock Electric focused on exceeding expectations through clear communication, clean worksites, and craftsmanship that speaks for itself.
